Dear Parent or Guardian:
We hope your summer went well. As we all get ready for another successful school year, allow us to provide some needed information and support for each of you for an effective start to the 2022-2023 school year. In June your student received the name and room number of his teacher for this school year. If you are newly registered, this information was given to you by the secretary. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
All students in K through 8th grade will begin school on Monday, August 29th, 2022. Kindergarten students ONLY will have half days for the first week. Kindergarten families will be contacted by the child’s teacher during the week of August 23rd to schedule an appointment for an interview.
There will also be a Meet-n-Greet for Kindergarten parents on August 26th from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the schoolyard.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
This school year masks will be mandatory for the first 10 days of school per the direction of the Philadelphia Department of Health. Beyond the first 10 days, masking will be optional for students and staff. For a full explanation of the protocols use the link:

ADMISSION AND DISMISSAL PROCESS: Our admissions and dismissal procedures will be the same as last year using the multiple entrances on Academy rd., Willits rd. and the school yard doors. ( included on pg. 2)

Equipping your child will with the materials needed are also key to a successful school year:
A detailed supply list was provided by the teachers on the last day of school for this upcoming school year but can also be found on the Thomas Holme website under ‘Announcements’.
The uniform policy will be strictly enforced for grades K-8; hoodies are NOT to be worn in the building unless they are Thomas Holme hoodies sold by the Home & School
Suggestions for Guardians:
1. Regularly talk to your child(ren) about their mental and physical health
2. Speak regularly about how to treat the next person; what is acceptable behavior and actions.
3. Ask daily about what was learned and encourage your child to give details
4. Have open lines of communication with your child’s teachers. Make sure you sign up and use Dojo
5. Set reasonable goals and help your child find ways to celebrate them.
